An Update

Hello friends! I can’t believe it’s been a month since I last wrote a post for you guys. It’s been a month of big changes for me and my family. My last post was written right after returning from my first experience as a camp counselor. What I didn’t say in that post was that my grandfather had a heart attack during the last day we were at camp. I wrote that post in a hospital waiting room.

For a few days following triple bypass surgery, we thought Papa would pull through. However, he didn’t. After two weeks of spending our days in the hospital, we launched into the flurry of activity that surrounds the execution of a funeral.

God has been good. My family is doing well, and today marks three weeks since the funeral. We’ve been adjusting to life without Papa, which means devoting a lot of time to being with my grandmother, who has dementia. It’s a big change, but I’ve been enjoying spending more time with her!

In addition to the life changes going on, I’m planning some changes for this site! Sometime in the near future I hope to move Leah’s Bookshelf onto a self-hosted platform. That will allow the flexibility to add some new features. I’m going to do my best to make sure I don’t drop any followers during the transfer, but if you notice an extended silence, you might want to visit the site and make sure you weren’t accidentally unsubscribed!

Thanks for sticking with this blog during the ups and downs and changes of the past 18 months. I appreciate each and every one of you!
