Guess A Quote [5.09.16]

Caddie Woodlawn [gaq]Hello all! It’s another day that the Lord has made. I hope we’re all able to rejoice in it. 🙂 Before I launch into this week’s Guess A Quote, I want to give you a heads-up that next week is going to be awesome. We’ll be celebrating two book releases: Espionage by Morgan Huneke and Samara’s Peril by Jaye L. Knight. Morgan is joining us with an author interview a week from today, Jaye is doing an author interview on the 11th, and I’ll be sharing my review about Samara’s Peril on the 13th. You definitely don’t want to miss any of it!

Okay. So, last week’s quote came from Caddie Woodlawn by Carol Ryrie Brink. Morgan Huneke was the only one to guess correctly, so congratulations, Morgan!

On Saturday, a group of young people from my church went hiking together. Due to the release of Captain America: Civil War, a lot of the conversation during the hike revolved around superheros and marvel comics. I figured I’d stick to the theme and pull a quote from a book that falls into that genre. This quote is one you’ll either instantly laugh at, or be totally confused by–depending on whether or not you know the context.

“You’re like a potato!” I shouted after her. “In a minefield.”

Happy Guessing!

What Has My Attention

  • Help Me Write the Definitive Book on Modern Selling This article has held my attention because of the wealth of information in the posts it links to. I’ve been exploring a few links per day for the past few days, and each one have some interesting nuggets for the sales and marketing side of me.
  • A Long Line of GoodbyesBeautiful description of the joys and sorrows of being a foster mom. The entire post was worth reading for the last paragraph. It reminded me of one of my favorite hymns, Let Your Heart Be Broken.
  • My Mom! We had a lovely Mother’s Day yesterday. I hope your Mom had/has your attention too!

This was a busy week for me, so my list of great online articles is pretty short. Share your finds with me! What has encouraged, inspired, or challenged you this week (links or stories)? I can’t wait to hear about it!

[Title Temporarily Removed]!!!!!!!!!!!! by [Author Temporarily Removed]. Great book even though (or maybe because) David is so bad with analogies! 😛

  2. I’m afraid I’m in the confused boat. Still made me smile though. 🙂
And I loved your post about “A Little Princess”! That is such a good book!

    • I’m gonna’ go out on a limb and guess “[Title Temporarily Removed]” or “[Title Temporarily Removed]” by [Author Temporarily Removed]. I don’t think that’s right, but I know he said he wrote sci-fi and superhero stories. Does it count if I haven’t even read the book??
