Guess A Quote [11.16.15]

Old-Fashioned Thanksgiving [GAQ]

Hi everyone! Hope your Monday has been going well. Since I’ve been working on organizing the Black Friday Sale (only two more weeks, eek!) it feels like the holiday season is setting in early this year! Have any of you started Christmas shopping yet? I have a few gifts tucked away, but I need to get cracking in earnest!

Last week’s quote came from An Old-Fashioned Thanksgiving by Louisa May Alcott. You can get a free kindle version of the story and the movie is pretty great too! 🙂 Kudos to Lina-Ruth, conniepsaunders, and MissPeet for getting it correct. Great job to Amanda, also, for getting the author right! 😀

This week’s quote isn’t specifically from a Thanksgiving story, but it is set during the right time period and the right season. It was a treasured “I CAN READ” book when I was little.

“You suppose it’s a real owl, Matt? Suppose it’s Indians! We might get scalped! Pa told me Indians sound just like that sometimes. Like owls, I mean.”

Happy Guessing!

Don’t Forget

I’m hosting a Jamberry party with a friend of mine who is a consultant for them. It would be awesome if you could join us. Even if you can’t, you can still take advantage of some of the benefits of the party. Katie graciously made free shipping available, so if you order wraps from her before November 23rd and mark “Leah’s party” during checkout, you won’t have to pay shipping!

Also feel free to enter the Rafflecopter drawing for a free Jamberry Application kit. 😉

  1. Oooh… I have no idea. AGAIN. Although I don’t feel so bad about last weeks. I haven’t read that one. 🙂

Good grief! You are picking some really hard ones! I put it into google and it only came up with ONE result…Leah’s bookshelf! Pretty sad when even google doesn’t have a clue. 😛

    • That is sad. I think the book is out of print now. Maybe I thought it was more popular among homeschoolers than it actually is. 😛

  3. No clue whatsoever on this one.

And gracious, it certainly doesn’t seem like Christmas is setting in quickly to me…it’s still in the 80s here in stubborn old Florida, and we choir folks have been working on the Christmas program since September. But the mall where I work has started playing Christmas music, now, so I suppose it is approaching speedily.

  4. Hmm, not sure about this one either. Louisa May Alcott? That’s enough to get a Little-Women-Fan sold! 🙂 I might have to look into that.

  5. Hi! This is my first time visiting your blog — I think we have similar interests. You caught my attention with using Alcott’s Thanksgiving story… I love that one! I remember watching the movie for it — followed by the movie sequel about Christmas.

I don’t have a guess to put in for this week’s quote, but this looks like a fun game!

    • Welcome, Tarissa! I haven’t seen the Christmas one yet. Maybe this year will be the year to give it a try.

Doesn’t seem like anyone will have a guess this week. Even Google is stumped. 😉
