Guess a Quote (12.30.13)

Candy CaneHello everyone! I’m back. 🙂 I hope you had a lovely Christmas and are enjoying the second-to-last day of 2013 (Yikes!). Our Christmas was different, but still fun. My grandma passed away last May, so we didn’t have her for Christmas Eve like usual. Because of that we decided it was a good year to switch things up. We usually act out the Christmas Story with our nativity set, but this year we role-played it with various family members reading different parts. Did you know that Joseph never talks?!

The title our last quote came from was Miracle on 49th Street, by Mike Lupica. It’s a sweet story about a girl struggling to connect to her rich-and-famous father following her mother’s death. OnionTea was the only reader to guess it correctly. Bravo, OnionTea! 😉

Now for this week’s quote. I have no idea if there are any traditional New Years stories (if there are, please enlighten me), so I’m just pulling this quote from a classic.

Suffering has been stronger than all other teaching, and has taught me to understand what your heart used to be. I have been bent and broken, but – I hope – into a better shape.

Happy Guessing!

  2. Arg! I looked it up and I have read it (and enjoyed it), though too long ago to remember the quote! Time for a re-read 😉
