Guess a Quote (10.28.13)

Question MarkWell, last week’s quote was one of the most popular I’ve ever posted. Puddleglum (yes, we can say the name now) has quite the fan base. The quote came from The Silver Chair (not that you needed me to tell you). emilydm544, Melody, CJ, lesmiserables1, Karis Elizabeth, Happy, Dirk, OnionTea, Emily Ruth, starshining4ever, Kiri Liz, and Anne Hawthorne all got it right. Good job you guys. And now that we can talk about Puddleglum, I’d like to know why you all like him so much? What character traits, scenes, etc. make you admire and love him?

Now for this week’s quote. It’s from a non-fiction book.

There are no ‘if’s’ in God’s world. And no placess that are safer than other places. The center of His will is our only safety – let us pray that we may always know it!

Happy Guessing!

I’m not sure why I suddenly know all these quotes. 😛 I’m on a roll I guess. This is from the The Hiding Place, by Corrie ten Boom.

    I don’t know this quote :-/

But Puddleglum! We all love someone who clearly can’t understand how incredible they are… I think it’s because we often treat ourselves inwardly like he treats himself outwardly, and it gives us hope that we too might be as wonderful, without ever knowing it. Just like we all love Eeyore.

Though I don’t enjoy the series as a whole, I love Tom Baker’s portrayal of Puddleglum in the BBC series… so perfect 🙂

    • I think another thing that makes him special is that he’s rather dreary, but not at all depressing to read about. And, in the end, he turns out to be quite heroic and inspirational. 🙂

  4. “The Hiding Place” 😀
