Guess a Quote (6.26.13)

Question MarkThanks everyone for bearing with me as I work towards getting my posting schedule back on track. I’ve been out of town for a writing conference for the past two weeks (any other One Year Adventure Novel people out there?) so all things considering I think I’ve done okay with keeping up with posts. ๐Ÿ˜›

Last week’s quote came from Peter’s Angel. If any of you missed it, I reviewed Peter’s Angel a few months ago. Two well read blog readers, Kiri Liz and Annie Hawthorne knew where the quote came from. Great job girls!

Now for this week’s quote.

All the boys were seated now, and the top Population Police official–the one who had the most decorations on his uniform, anyway–stepped up to the podium at the front of the room.

If you’ve read the series, this should be a dead giveaway. But can you remember which specific book it comes from?

By the way, if any of you have suggestions for a quote to use, feel free to send it to me using the contact forum. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Argh! I know this quote is from the Shadow Children series, but I haven’t read
them all, so I don’t know which one it’s from! I’ll have to read the others (or I’ll
just flip through them real quick at the library until I find it ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Or you could cheat and narrow things down by coming over my house and seeing which books are on my shelf. ๐Ÿ˜›

That is very logical, Leah, but alas, I’ve already done my
detective work:) (I’m at the library). It was actually a breeze.
I was lucky and picked up Among the Enemy first and it
        was right there!
PS. Just wanted to let you know that there’s going to be
a picnic after church on Sunday. Didn’t know if you guys
        knew that already. See yas:)

        • Yes, we know. Thanks for reminding us, though. Are you all studied up for Bible baseball? (I’m not….)

Oops. We’re doing Bible baseball? I had
no clue. What book are we supposed to
          be studying up for?

Woot!! I got it right! *happy grin*
Hmm…well, going by the quote and what I’ve read about the Among the Hidden series, I’m going to say it is from them. But as I have yet to read any of said books I haven’t the foggiest idea which one ze quote is from. O.o ๐Ÿ™‚

Ooooo, I think I could come up with some good quotes! *nodsnods* I’ll email some to you ASAP. *scuttles off to ransack her stash of books* ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Wonderful. I try to stick to books I think readers of my blog are fairly likely to know about. So keeping that and the type of book I review (no romances or anything like that ;)), I would love to have your quotes. It’s surprisingly difficult to come up with new ones every week.

*has sent them* The last one might be rather obscure, I picked from a lesser known classic, but I decided to include it just in case. ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh! I forgot to add. I never read anything that would count as a Romance novel so I won’t be sending any quotes in like that. I have a high reading standard, so everything I send in should be clean. ๐Ÿ˜€

        • Most of my readers do, so I didn’t think you’d be an exception to the rule. Just double checking. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Thanks so much for the suggestions.

*grins* I understand. ๐Ÿ™‚ You’re very welcome! If I find anymore I’ll be sending them. ๐Ÿ™‚
