Hello everyone! Hope you had a delightful weekend. My family enjoyed going to a homeschool conference on Saturday. The speakers were quite good and it was also nice to see many friends I don’t see very often.
Last week’s quote came from Chasing Jupiter, by Rachel Coker. Rachel is a homeschooled author and I’ve enjoyed both of her books, Saving Jupiter being her most recent release and Interrupted being her first. Two up-to-date readers, Layla and elw7 knew which book the quote was from. Great job!
Here’s one for this week. I expect a good many of you to be able to guess it. And as a bit of extra fun, see if you can fill in the name I took out. (The “and [blank] himself,” line.)
One word, Ma’am,” he said, coming back from the fire; limping, because of the pain. “One word. All you’ve been saying is quite right, I shouldn’t wonder. I’m a chap who always liked to know the worst and then put the best face I can on it. So I won’t deny any of what you said. But there’s one more thing to be said, even so. Suppose we have only dreamed, or made up, all those things-trees and grass and sun and moon and stars and [blank] himself. Suppose we have. Then all I can say is that, in that case, the made-up things seem a good deal more important than the real ones.
